We have been having a number of discussions about the history – including the natural history – of Appleshaw and the Church. At one of these discussions, Ben Kite – who is a local expert ecologist – offered to prepare for the PCC a biodiversity plan for the Churchyard and the Cemetery. Although the document is still in draft form, it is incredibly detailed and contains images of maps and other information that has been obtained from specialist sources.

The appropriate way of proceeding would be to keep the draft document locked away and under wraps until it had been discussed, reviewed, agonised-over and thoroughly committee-ized. However, we have rather taken the view that anything goes these days – and Ben’s document, even in draft form – contains some really interesting information. Hence you can either access the draft document via the web-page here: http://appleshawchurch.com/how-the-building-works-are-progressing/natural-history/biodiversity-plan-for-churchyard-and-cemetery/
